A little introduction of myself and how Fix It Right Plumbing and Heating Ltd. came to be…

Hi! I’m Jason. I’m originally from Burnaby, BC, but I have lived in Alberta for over 15 years. I purchased a home in Stony Plain over 3 years ago with my wife Janet, who is also a local entrepreneur serving the community, & our daughter Riley.

 After many years in the gas & oil industry, my family moved to Edmonton to give it a go there. Unfortunately, a couple years after moving the industry slowed down. I had to come up with plan B because returning to camp up North meant being without the family.

So back in October of 2017 I took the plunge and started working for myself and opened up Fix It Right Plumbing and Heating Ltd.

To be totally honest, I was scared. Scared enough I could have pooped my pants, I tell ya!!! I was skilled in my trade, with over 21 years experience as a Journeyman Plumber & Gasfitter servicing residential, commercial and industrial clients.  I also knew that I had to build Fix It Right on simple core values that were customer focused. Offering fair and reasonable pricing, providing unsurpassed service that delivered exceptional value to my customers and being honest & showing integrity-  always. But that’s not what scared me.

What scared me was the idea of running a business; the behind the scenes stuff. But thanks to knowledgeable family & friends, getting up when I’ve fallen & learning from my mistakes, I am thrilled to say that we are now in our 3rd year of business (so I must be doing something right)!

I am pretty pumped to announce that with those core values, a lot of blood, sweat & determination and the AMAZING support of the community, I have been able to grow Fix It Right and now have a second local journeyman plumber & gasfitter on my team! This means we now have 2 full time trucks on the road! The cherry on the top is being able to offer employment opportunities during such a challenging time in the economy.
